What a digital marketing agency does

Plans, runs and measures the advertising — and answers for the result

A digital marketing agency takes over a business’s online presence: advertising on Google and social media, presence on marketplaces, email, content and measurement. The difference between agencies is not the list of services — it is what they count as success. For us it is whatever counts for your business: sales for an online store, leads for a B2B company, bookings for a hotel, appointments for a clinic — and what was left after the advertising was paid.

Execution on every channel that brings customers

Google, Meta, TikTok, Skroutz, email. Not “the channel we know” — the channel that performs for your business, with the budget moving to where it returns.

A fixed point of contact

Your account has one account manager who knows it inside out. You ask and you get the answer from the person who has it — not a ticket.

Measurement that reaches a result

The monthly review does not stop at ROAS or clicks. It goes down to the number we agreed counts: sales, leads, bookings, cost per new customer.

Digital marketing from A to Z

Every digital marketing channel — and the page that explains it

Whatever you are looking for — Google Ads, social media advertising, SEO, email marketing, Skroutz — there is a specific service and a specific page. Below is the full picture of digital marketing for any business, as we do it, with the links where they belong.

Performance marketing: Google Ads & Meta Ads

Advertising on Google (Search, Shopping, Performance Max, YouTube) and on social media (Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn) is the backbone of performance marketing for any business that wants customers from the internet.

Skroutz & marketplace marketing

For Greek online stores, Skroutz is often the first channel that performs, not the last. Skroutz Growth takes over ads, deals and price optimizer — and the NewCult case study shows what happens when the budget is split by the return of each tool.

SEO & organic traffic

SEO does not replace advertising — it complements it, and needs 4-6 months to be measured. It is offered as one of the nine additional services, together with copywriting for pages that are read by people and by search engines alike.

Email marketing & marketing automation

Email is one of the cheapest channels a business has — repeat purchase for an online store, follow-up for leads and bookings — as long as it is not one newsletter a week to everyone. Email marketing and automations (abandoned cart, welcome, repurchase) belong to the additional services; Rose Poupée ran them together with advertising, as one system.

Social media management, influencer & video marketing

Organic presence on social, influencer partnerships and video content are different jobs from advertising — and we take them on separately, through the same additional services. Christou 1910 built its online channel with influencer marketing as well.

Digital marketing for services, B2B and businesses without an e-shop

Restaurants, clinics, hotels, law and accounting firms, B2B, retail with physical stores: they advertise online for leads, bookings, appointments and visits — not for a cart. For them there is Bespoke DMS — same team, different goal.

Profitability, analytics & measurement

Before any campaign, the question is whether the business can afford the advertising: what a new customer is worth, what margin there is, where the loss begins. For online stores there is also a tool: the E-commerce Profitability Audit answers it across six areas.

Digital marketing strategy & consulting

If you need direction rather than hands, consulting is a different job — and at UpCommerce it is done personally by John Kiskipelis, as a digital marketing consultant and ecommerce consultant. Start with the guide on how to choose an ecommerce consultant.

Entering the Greek market from abroad

For international brands, digital marketing in Greece starts with a check: first the Greek Market Entry Audit, then Gateway to Greece or the Hybrid Entry Model for selling without a Greek company — as Fitone did.

How a new account starts

1 · Diagnosis before budget

Before any campaign opens, we look at the numbers: margins per product or service, the value of a new customer, what has and has not performed so far. Budget is not the first question — it is the third.

2 · Channels in order of priority

Not everything at once. We start from the channel with the highest certainty of return for your business — for an online store often Skroutz, for a service usually Google Search — and build from there.

3 · Execution at a steady cadence

The account is checked two or three times a week, or daily, depending on the program. The cadence is agreed up front and never changes silently.

4 · A review in the numbers that matter

Every month: what was spent, what it brought — sales, leads, bookings — and what was left. If a channel does not hold up in the numbers, we say so first — before you see it from your accountant.

Frequently asked questions about the digital marketing agency

What does a digital marketing agency do?

It takes over a business’s online presence end to end: channel strategy, advertising on Google and social media, presence on marketplaces such as Skroutz, email marketing, content and measurement. UpCommerce does this for any business that sells or finds customers online — from online stores to services, B2B and retail.

How much does working with a digital marketing agency cost?

It depends on scope and cadence. We work on a monthly fee set by the channels and the level of monitoring, while the advertising budget is separate and paid by you directly to the platforms. In the 30-minute intro call we see what you need and you get a specific proposal, with no commitment.

How long until results show?

In advertising, the first data arrives in 2-4 weeks and the picture settles in 2-3 months. SEO needs 4-6 months to be measured properly. Our case studies always state the time frame next to the number — NewCult, for example, grew its Skroutz revenue by 33.84% within three months.

Do you work with businesses that have no online store?

Yes, through Bespoke DMS — a program for businesses that advertise online without selling through an e-shop: leads, bookings, visits to a physical store. The team and the tools are the same; the goal changes.

Are you in Athens or Thessaloniki?

Both: Glyfada and Thessaloniki. Most partnerships run online, with in-person meetings whenever needed — and we work with clients across Greece and with brands from abroad entering the Greek market.

How do I choose a digital marketing agency?

Ask for three things: case studies with a client name, a number and a time frame; who exactly will work on your account; and how success is measured. If the answer is impressions or clicks instead of sales, leads or bookings, keep looking.

What is the difference between an agency and a digital marketing consultant?

The agency executes: it runs the accounts daily, with a team. The consultant advises: strategy, priorities and review of the work being done — by you, by an in-house team or by an agency. At UpCommerce the two are separate: the agency is a team of six, while consulting is done personally by John Kiskipelis, as an independent engagement.
